1月31日，中共中央总书记、国家主席、中央军委主席胡锦涛在全国抗击雨雪冰冻灾害的关键时刻，来到湖东站考察大秦铁路抢运电煤的情况，慰问一线职工。他希望，铁路部门积极响应党中央的号召，尽最大努力，科学调度，挖掘潜力，增加运量，保证安全，为打好抢运电煤关键一仗作出更大的贡献。
    At the critical moment of the national campaign against the snow and freeze disaster, General Secretary of CPC Central Committee, Chinese President & Chairman of Central Military Commission Hu Jintao came over to Hudong Station on January 31st to inspect Daqin Railway’s coal transportation and convey greetings to the first-line staff. Hu urged the railway departments to answer the central authority’s call in earnest, try all means to improve traffic control, explore potential, increase traffic volume and secure safety so as to make greater contribution to the contingent transportation of power coal.

    Entrusted by General Secretary Hu Jintao, Member of the Standing Committee of the CCCPC Political Bureau & Chairman of the Standing Committee of NPC National Committee Wu Bangguo came over to MOR Traffic Control Center and Beijing West Station in the afternoon of February 3rd to inspect CR’s coal transportation and Spring Festival transportation and convey greetings and appreciation to the first-line railway staff, who had been keeping to the post for days and nights. Wu spoke highly of railways’ initial achievements in the disaster relief campaign and  urged the railway sector to carry on unyielding spirit and work harder to win an all-round victory in  the  disaster  relief  campaign so as to secure a merry Spring Festival for the people.

    Despite the  freezing wind, Member of CCCPC Political Bureau & Premier Wen Jiabao came over to Beijing West Station  on January 25th to inspect  railway’s Spring Festival transportation and convey greetings to the first-line staff. While conveying sincere greetings and heartfelt thanks on behalf  of  the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, Premier Wen urged  the  railway  departments to work harder, strengthen management, secure festival transportation safety, improve service quality and go all out to ensure a safe and sound journey home for the people.
    １月２９日，中共中央政治局常委、国务院总理温家宝来到长沙站看望滞留车站的旅客。走进候车大厅，总理向候车旅客挥手致意。看见总理来了，大家喜出望外，顿时掌声雷动。打算从长沙返回贵州的旅客蔡志祝已在候车室待了３天。总理拉着她的手嘘寒问暖。为了保证滞留旅客的生活不受影响，车站设立了救助站，免费发放食品、饮用水，温家宝走进这里，看到各种食品饮料琳琅满目，十分欣慰。面对滞留车站的群众，总理动情地说：“春节快到了，我给大家拜个早年。你们被困在火车站无法按时赶回家过年，我表示深深的歉意。现在我们正在想尽一切办法抢修，一定把大家送回家过春节。”
    Member of the Standing Committee of CCCPC  Political  Bureau & Premier Wen Jiabao came over to Changsha Station on January 29th to meet the  stranded  passengers. Premier Wen waved his hand when walking into the waiting hall. The passengers burst into joyful applause at the sight of the Premier. Premier Wen had a warm talk with Ms. Cai Zhizhu, who had been waiting here for her  train  back  to  Guizhou for 3 days. Premier Wen expressed satisfaction with the newly established aid center in the waiting area, which distributes free food and drinks. “The Spring Festival is only a few days away, and I’m wishing a happy new year to all of you! I’m so sorry that you’re stuck here and not able to return home on time. But I can assure you that we are trying our best to do the make-up arrangement and we’ll send you all home for the Spring Festival.”
   
    1月30日8时15分，中共中央政治局常委、国务院总理温家宝在中共中央政治局委员、广东省委书记汪洋，广东省省长黄华华陪同下，来到了广州火车站，看望广大旅客。在火车站广场临时搭建的大棚下，聚集着大批滞留的旅客。温家宝手拿扩音器对大家说，我来看望大家，你们吃苦了。最近，南方地区遭遇了几十年不遇的冰雪灾害，电路中断，铁路停运，又赶上春运，滞留旅客非常多。你们回家心切，我非常理解。我们正在全力恢复电网，疏通道路，争取让大家早点和家人团聚。温家宝亲切接见了日夜奋战在春运一线的武警官兵、公安民警和铁路职工。他勉励大家，要发扬不怕疲劳、连续作战的作风，照顾好旅客。
    Member  of  the  Standing Committee of  CCCPC Political  Bureau & Premier Wen Jiabao came over to Guangzhou Station at 08:15 on January 30th, accompanied by Secretary of CPC  Guangdong  Committee Wang Yang and Governor Huang Huahua. Speaking with a loudspeaker among  the stranded passengers  under  the temporarily established rainshed at the station square, Premier Wen talked to the passengers “I’ve come to see you. I know you’ve suffered a lot. For the past several  days, the  southern  regions have suffered snow freeze disaster unprecedented for decades, which caused power transmission failure, disruption  of  railway  transportation and a lot of stranded passengers. I quite understand that all of you are eager to get home. We’re trying all means to resume power supply and transport service to make you join your family as soon as possible.” Premier Wen met the armed police forces, security forces and railway staff who had been keeping to the posts for days and nights. Premier Wen encouraged the staff to carry on the unyielding spirit to well look after the passengers.
   
    2月9日，中共中央政治局常委、国务院总理温家宝在国务院煤电油运和抢险救灾应急指挥中心《信息专报》上作出重要批示：“铁道、交通部门要提早做好节后旅客返城的安排，做到安全、有序、顺利。”同日上午，国务院常务副秘书长张平给铁道部打来电话，传达了温家宝总理的重要指示。温总理指出，前一段时间，铁路系统干部职工很辛苦，节后民工等客流就要到来，将迎来节后春运高峰。请铁道部周密安排，认真做好准备，落实各项措施，确保安全、有序、顺利地完成繁重的节后春运任务。
    Member  of  the  Standing Committee  of CCCPC  Political Bureau & Premier Wen Jiabao wrote important instructions on the Special Report  of  the  State  Council’s Emergency Command  Center for Disaster Relief and Coal, Power, Oil and Transport Assurance on February 9th: The railway and communications departments  should  secure  prior arrangement  for the passengers to return to cities in a safe, orderly and smooth  manner after the Spring Festival. The  Deputy  Secretary-General of the State Council Zhang Ping called MOR to pass on Premier Wen’s important instructions on the same morning. The railway staff have been  working  very hard for the past days, however, the post-festival travel peak is right ahead as the migrant workers are embarking on their journey. MOR is supposed to conduct  careful preparations and carry out all assurance measures so as to accomplish the post-festival transportation in a safe, orderly and smooth manner, noted Premier Wen.

    Member of the Standing Committee of CCCPC Political Bureau & Chairman  of CPPCC National Committee Jia Qinglin came over to Hefei Station at 16:35 on January 31st to inspect railway’s Spring Festival transportation. While inspecting train #5085 and waiting hall #1, Chairman Jia delivered the central authority’s greetings to the first-line  railway  staff  and  encouraged them to carry on the self-sacrifice  spirit and win the complete victory of the disaster relief campaign.
   
    1月30日至31日，中共中央政治局常委李长春在湖北省委书记、省人大常委会主任罗清泉，省长李鸿忠，铁道部党组成员、副部长卢春房陪同下深入武汉铁路局汉口站和局调度所，考察铁路春运及抗灾抢险工作，转达了胡锦涛总书记对广大旅客和奋战在春运一线铁路干部职工的亲切问候。
    Member  of  the  Standing Committee of CCCPC Political Bureau Li Changchun came over to Hankou Station and the Traffic Control Center of Wuhan Railway Administration from January 30th to 31st, accompanied by Secretary of CPC Hubei Committee Luo Qingquan, Governor Li Hongzhong, and Member of MOR Party Group & Vice Minister Lu Chunfang. While inspecting railway’s Spring Festival transportation and disaster relief campaign, Li  conveyed sincere greetings from General Secretary Hu Jintao to the passengers and first-line railway staff.
   
    1月31日22时04分，在贵州考察抗击灾害工作的中共中央政治局常委、中央书记处书记习近平乘坐A66次列车到达贵阳站。在列车上，习近平专门听取了铁道部党组成员、副部长彭开宙，成都铁路局局长齐文超关于铁路抗灾救灾情况的汇报，对铁路工作以及抗灾救灾工作给予充分肯定。习近平代表党中央、国务院，向辛勤工作在抗灾救灾一线的铁路广大干部职工表示衷心感谢。他要求铁路部门进一步发扬连续作战精神，善始善终，继续做好抗灾救灾工作。
    During his inspection tour on the disaster relief campaign in Guizhou, Member of the Standing Committee of  CCCPC  Political Bureau & Secretary  of  CCCPC Secretariat Xi Jinping arrived at Guiyang Station  by train #A66 at 22:04 on January 31st. After hearing the report by Member of MOR Party Group & Vice Minister Peng Kaizhou and Director-General Qi Wenchao  of Chengdu Railway Administration, Xi Jinping spoke highly of railway’s efforts in the disaster relief campaign and conveyed sincere thanks to the first-line railway staff on behalf of the central authority. Xi also urged railway departments to carry on the unyielding spirit and well manage the disaster relief work till the last end.
