2007年12月22日，首列国产时速300公里动车组在中国南方机车车辆工业集团公司四方机车车辆股份有限公司成功下线，自此我国成为世界上少数几个能够自主研发制造时速300公里动车组的国家。
On December 22nd 2007, China’s first 300km EMU train rolled out at CSR Sifang Locomotive & Rolling Stocks Co., Ltd, marking China’s entrance to the elite countries which have the capability to independently develop and manufacture 300 km/h EMU.

Despite the freezing coldness, MOR Party Secretary & Minister Liu Zhijun, Members of MOR Party Group & VM Hu Yadong, VM Lu Chunfang and VM Wang Zhiguo came over to Beijing-Tianjin Intercity Railway construction site in the morning of December 27th 2007. Minister Liu and the other MOR leaders conveyed greetings to the railway builders, inspected the project progress and operation preparations, held talks with the management and engineers of the units of construction, design and operation and worked together on the major issues of the opening of this line. Minister Liu stressed to look at the whole picture from the strategic height, well understand the significance of this railway project, enhance the sense of honor, urgency and mission, strengthen leadership and organization, try to build, manage and operate this railway according to the world’s top-notch level and ensure a successful operation before the Beijing Olympics 2008.
2007年12月18日上午，古长城雁门关脚下，准朔铁路新建韩家岭至原平、准格尔至朔州铁路工程正式奠基开工。准格尔至朔州段铁路工程项目正线全长206公里，途经山西、陕西、内蒙古，按单线预留双线条件、国铁一级电气化铁路设计；新建韩家岭至原平段铁路工程项目，正线全长153公里，为国家一级、双线、电气化铁路。
ZhunShuo Railway commenced construction on Hanjialing-Yuanping section and Zhunge’r-Shuozhou section under the Yanmen Pass of the old Great Wall in the morning of December 18th 2007. Running 206km via Shanxi, Shaanxi and Inner Mongolia, Zhunge’r-Shuozhou section will be an electrified Class-I railway, single-tracked with reserved conditions for double tracking. Hanjialing-Yuanping section will be a Class I, double-track and electrified line with the length of 153km.
2008年全国铁路春运方案1月2日出台。在1月23日至3月2日的40天春运里，预计全国铁路发送旅客1.786亿人，同比增长8.3％。今年春运客流将出现节前集中、节后平缓的趋势。2008年春运节前15天客流将主要集中在北京、广州、沪杭地区，节后25天客流主要集中的地区是成都、重庆、武汉、南昌、合肥、阜阳等。
CR announced railway transportation plan for the upcoming Spring Festival on January 2nd 2008. In the 40 days from January 23rd to March 2nd, CR is estimated to carry 178.6 million passengers, or a year-on-year increase of 8.3%. This year’s spring festival transportation will feature concentration before festival and ease after festival. Beijing, Guangzhou and Shanghai-Hangzhou Region will meet intensive passenger flows in the first 15 days of the festival transportation period, and concentration will emerge in Chengdu, Chongqing, Wuhan, Nanchang, Hefei and Fuyang in the latter 25 days.
